Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test
Our Grade 10 students will be writing the 2017 Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) this Thursday, March 30th. Students originally had an opportunity to write the test in October, however, technical difficulties prevented the majority of students in Ontario from completing the assessment. We have used this additional time to review concepts, outline test structure and highlight previous tests for student support.
Student Grade Level Assemblies regarding Opioid use
As part of our ongoing effort to share information from Ottawa Public Health, the Ottawa Police Service and our partnership with Rideauwood Addictions Services, we delivered grade level assemblies to our students this past week. Jessica Whelan, our Rideauwood Counsellor counsellors opioid and fentanyl use, warning signs of those who may be using, and what to do in emergencies. We will continue to bring up to date information to our students, parents and staff.
Event for Parents regarding Cyberbullying
The Ottawa Bullying Prevention Coalition in partnership with Ottawa Public Health and Ottawa Police Service will be hosting an event for parents on cyberbullying . The event will bring together key partners across sectors including mental health experts, police and research to facilitate a conversion on cyberbullying and building a more supportive and safe community for all those impacted. The session will take place on Thursday, March 30th, from 6:30pm to 9:00 pm at Ben Franklin Place, 101 Centrepointe, Ottawa ON

All Saints Student - Provincial Champ!
Sebastian Chavez, Student Trustee and All Saints High School student, recently won 1st place at the DECA Provincial Competition in Toronto. Over 7500 students from across Ontario came together to compete in a variety of business-based events. Sebastian was the only one to receive a perfect score. Next, he’ll be competing in the International Career Development Conference, DECA’s international competition, in Anaheim, California from April 24 - May 1. Congratulations, Sebastian, and best of luck.
