All Saints Blog Week of October 16th, 2017

Grade 9-12 Letters of Progress and Parent-Teacher interviews
Letters of concern for students in grades 9-12 were sent out as part of a message this past Friday from school.  All Saints wishes to remind parents of high school students (grades 9-12) that parent/teacher interviews will be held on Thursday, October 19th. There will be an early dismissal at 1:30 pm that day for all students in grades 7-12. The times for interviews are 2 pm to 4 pm and again from 5 pm until 7 pm.  We will also have a special “optional” session for parents of students in grade 10, providing information on the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test.  Test structure, strategies for preparation and other information will be highlighted in the meeting from 6:30 to 7:00pm.
Booking interviews for October 19th will be done on-line through the You Can Book Me program. The link can be accessed on our website as of Monday afternoon.  Parents/guardians are reminded that if they are unable to schedule an interview with a particular teacher, they are welcome to contact the teacher at the school to have a telephone discussion.
Please note interviews are 10 minutes in length and parents are asked to request a maximum of one interview slot per teacher.  7&8 Report card distribution will take place on November 2nd, and parent teacher interviews with grade 7&8 teachers will be on November 9th.

myBlueprint Career Readiness Information
mbp_logo_print (1) All Saints Catholic High School has partnered with myBlueprint to provide all of our students with an engaging and interactive online education and career planning program.  myBlueprint Education Planner (7-12) includes a number of beneficial resources to support your child as they progress through high school.  Students complete many of the activities as part of regular classroom work from grade 7 through to 12.  We are encouraging parents to participate in the process with their children.  You can get more information about creating a parent account at the following link.

Party Smart Activity for Grade 10 students
On Thursday, October 5th our Grade 10 students participated in the first “All Saints Party Smart” event.  This event provided our Grade 10 students with the opportunity to hear from community leaders about alcohol and drug use, overdoses, drinking and driving, distracted driving, and other related issues.  We thank our participating community volunteers who represented Ottawa Emergency Services, Ottawa Police, Public Health Unit, Rideauwood, The Ottawa Hospital, CAA and the MTO.  We are encouraged by the partnerships we have established with these groups - our students are appreciative of your support.

There is a great deal of information on the CSPA website regarding information for parents and upcoming sessions.  You can visit the website here.
